"Hostilities Intruding" is a rock opera written for various applications and to have broad market appeal.
- The music and story are appropriate for numerous applications / revenue sources.
- Sound recording (CD / DVD / MP3).
- Live theatre / stage production.
- Feature film.
- Story based on the premise represented by the songs.
- Musical.
- Soundtrack albums (stage and film versions).
- Internet (a portal and forum related to world conflicts).
- Inclusion of individual songs on soundtracks of movies with a similar theme or storyline.
- Books (personal war experiences, letters, etc.)
- The subject matter:
- Has proven general market appeal as indicated by movies, documentaries, books, etc.
- Has world-wide / international market appeal because of the universal subject matter.
- Has durability. It is an ageless theme and not based upon a current phenomenon or trend.
- Is currently relevant and addresses sociological concerns of today (there are a number of conflicts presently underway in various parts of the world, particularly the Middle East).
- Is of interest to a broad market group.
- Today's youth.
- Those with war experiences (WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Middle East: Kuwait / Afghanistan / Iraq, Peacekeepers).
- Those from or connected to countries currently experiencing hostilities.
- Long market life. The appeal and recognition should grow - with the recording selling consistently over the years, particularly with various stage / touring productions.
- Graphics and visual treatment. As the story is based on actual stories and conflicts, there are numerous possibilities (and an abundance of strong visual material) for stage, film, packaging, books, etc.
- There is strong media appeal for promotion (topic and story, music, individual performers and stage production cast, etc.).
- A unique retail product (there has not been a strong "theme" album on the market recently).
- The album tells a story.
- "Double album" package.
- Unique packaging.
- Suited for online marketing. It is a strong unit and package - not a collection of songs that would be sold or downloaded individually.
- All songs are based upon actual experiences. The situations portrayed are "real", contributing to acceptance of the characters as real people, and a closer connection and relationship with the audience.
- It has a positive message. It is not actually about war, but rather the experiences of people called to war. It does not glorify war, but draws attention - through the individuals - to the resulting emotional and physical devastation. It is therefore a strong "anti-war" statement and appropriate for the times.
